I came upon the Brincliffe Hotel whilst surfing the net for a hotel in Blackpool that caters for the more mature and single person. This was the first time that my Mum had been on holiday on her own since my Father passed away, so I was quite apprehensive about Mum going alone. My worries soon faded away when I met the wonderful hosts, Sue, Elaine and George. The welcome was warm, friendly and sincere and we were invited to take afternoon tea in the lounge. Whilst my Mum settled in, I was given a tour of the hotel by Sue. It has recently been tastefully refurbished to a very high standard by Sue and her husband, George and the bedrooms are bright and airy with modern en-suite facilities. The bar area has been decorated to a high standard and it is expertly manned by Elaine. I even had the opportunity to visually explore a wide and varied selection of beer, wine and spirits offered to guests at very reasonable prices. Nothing was too much trouble and I knew that my Mum would be well looked after during her 5 night stay. Mum has now returned form her holiday and she has given it a five star rating all round. She informs me that the food was all freshly prepared by Sue and Elaine and it was plentiful. She sampled a whiskey or two in the bar whilst making a lot of new friends, including the hosts. I would like to use this opportunity to thank Sue, Elaine and George for their kind hospitality and generosity - a wonderful hotel giving fantastic value for money.
